The session began with an engaging game centered on learning new vocabulary, in which each participant was given the opportunity to construct sentences using the new vocabulary they chose.

Holistic Development

Holistic development is important and is the key to learning in the early years of childhood.

The Five Aspects of Holistic Development

Physical – Growing and developing motor skills.
Social – how children interact with others and communicate in their world.
Emotional – Learning to express emotions in a healthy way.
Cognitive – Thinking, creativity and acquiring skills for learning.
Metacognition – Awareness and understanding of one’s own thought processes.

Teachers were encouraged to form a group and answer a riddle that described the learning outcomes; everyone in the group participated to define the Learning Outcomes…

Learning outcomes are extremely important for a teacher to understand for specificity, guidance (task and discussion focused and relevant), assessment, and student centricity.

The trainer used and provided techniques and recommendations to get the attention of the participants, which can be recreated with the children at Think rooms.

The participants were instructed to look for common words associated with the lesson from the facilitation handbook, which revealed the importance of verbs.

The four language abilities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as progressive practices, were discussed, like questioning, using AV, voice modulation, intonation, games, open ended questions, modelling student answers, pass the story, writing checklist, sentence starters, word wall.

Finally, teachers were asked to select a learning outcome and share evidence in the form of images or videos by July 15th.
