The children were called to school along with their parents in slots for the much-awaited Kindergarten Fine Motor Work Station, which was held with great excitement and anticipation.
Young children’s cognitive development is linked to their physical motions.
With exuberant enthusiasm and radiant smiles, our children embraced every activity with astonishing assurance. When it came to finishing the tasks, the kids’ independence and confidence were impressive. Children and their parents participated in an engaging, hands-on workshop called the Fine Motor Activity Workstation, which aimed to improve the fine motor skills and tripod grip of the kids.
The different exercises, such as stringing fryums, sorting shapes, tracing strokes using clay, “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” picking up pom-poms with pegs, the pom-pom squeeze, popsicle pair-up, rubber band play, spooning beads into a bottle, cutting straws, the color challenge, fold it up, punch art, trace and trace, and steady hands, were thoughtfully chosen to help our young students develop their writing abilities.
The Learning Home Station featured a display of activities that could be done using household items, giving parents ideas on how to encourage their children to practice at home.
This hands-on learning opportunity was a resounding success for our Pre KG, LKG, and UKG students.
