Prasan Vidya Bala Mandir celebrated Navarathri with much fanfare and merriment. The steps were covered with a decorative cloth, and the dolls were placed on them.
According to tradition, the dolls of Goddess Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati and the wooden dolls called the Marapachi Bommai are always part of the arrangement.
The children were dressed traditionally.
Our school’s principal and vice principal led a customary aarti and pooja to kick off the festivities. Children praised Goddess Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswathi by reciting slokas and singing hymns.
The Prekg, LKG, and UKG children sang an amazing song and gave a dance performance that stole the show during the celebration.
The highlight of the day was seeing our children’s work adorned Durga face worksheets with their parents on display in every kindergarten classroom.
Every child received prasadam. The Navarathri event was attended by PVBM members and kids from every class, and the day concluded with a Navarathri film show in the classroom.
